Heeling Adjustment or Parallelism of Saw-
blade to Miter Gauge Groove
W hile cutting, the m ateria! m ust m ove in a straight line
parallel to the saw blade. Therefore, both the m iter gauge
groove and the rip fence m ust be parallel to the saw -
blade.
WARNING: The bfade must be parallel to the miter
gauge groove. Misaligned blades could bind on
workpiece. Workpiece could suddenly kickback.
You could be cut or hit.
If the saw blade is not paralfe! to the m iter gauge groove,
the blade w ill bind at one end of the cut This is know n as
"H eeling")-
WARNING: To avoid injury from accidental start,
make sure switch Is “OFF” and plug is not con
nected to power source outlet.
To check for parallelism:
1, R aise blade all the w ay up, raise blade guard
2
M ark an “X" on one of the teeth of the saw blade w hich
is naturally bent to the left.
3,
Place the head of a com binatiors square in the left
m iter gauge groove Adjust ruler blade of square so
that it just touches the tip of the m arked tooth. R em em
ber to keep the head of the square flush against the
m iter gauge groove
4, R otate the saw blade so that the “X" on the tooth is now
visible at the rear of the saw

If saw biade is not parallel w ith the m iter gauge groove,
you m ust adjust the position of the sawbiade.
To Adjust For Blade Heel:
1 U se a 3/16" hex "L" w rench to loosen the four adjust
m ent locking screws about 1/2 turn
2, Loosen tw o pan head screw s on the rear skirt of the
table about 1/2 turn.
3
The m echanism under the table can now be m oved
Sideways
from above by covering the saw biade w ith a
piece of cardboard and shifting the blade to the right or
left as required,

The tooth m arked on the saw blade should be parallel
to the m iter gauge groove after adjustm ent is m ade

Tighten all screws carefully so as not to m ove saw-
blade out of alignm ent
