Removing and Replacing a Power Supply

To replace a power supply, perform the following steps.

NOTICE: The power supply is heavy. Support it with both hands when
installing or removing it.

1.

Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the sys-
tem from its electrical outlet.

2.

Unplug the power cord from the faulty power supply.

3.

Open the system doors.

4.

Remove the power supply:

a.

The power supply is secured by a latch on the back panel of the system.

Rotate the top of the power supply latch downward.

b.

Grasp the handle on the top of the power supply and lift the power supply
straight up from the system.

5.

Lower the new power supply into the chassis.
