Motherboard

The motherboard has one Intel Pentium 4 2GHz CPU that controls the image data
transferred to and from the copier interface board. The motherboard also controls HDD
functions and the communication between the ColorPASS and external devices. The
motherboard has 4 DIMM sockets. Two sockets contain a 128MB DIMM, for a total of
256MB of memory (see Figure 4-18 on page 4-34). The motherboard also includes five
PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) connectors:

• Three 32-bit 33MHz (5V) PCI connectors on PCI bus 0

• One 133/100/66Mhz PCI connector on PCI bus 1

• One 100/66MHz PCI connector on PCI bus 2

Removing the motherboard

The motherboard attaches to the side of the chassis below the power supply. Before you
remove the motherboard, you must remove:

• All boards installed on the motherboard

• All cables connected to the motherboard

(these include the motherboard power cable, CPU power cable, front panel fan cable,
HDD ribbon cable, DVD drive ribbon cable, power button cable, reset button cable,
speaker cable, and UIB cable)

This section also includes information on the following:

• Replacing or adding DIMM(s)

• Replacing the CPU

• Replacing the battery

• Jumper configuration
