Replacing the Color Accent Kit
Removing the Front Color Accent Panels
1. Complete the Accessing Internal Computer Components
procedure, but do not turn the computer on its side.
2. Locate the lock on the inside front of your computer and
move it to the unlocked position.
3. Push in on the indentation at
the top of the lower bezel
(CD storage door) to release
the latch and open the door.
4. While the lower bezel is
open, put your fingers in the
finger holes under the upper
bezel (marked with arrows
on the computer). Then pull
the upper bezel towards you
to remove it.
5. To remove the lower bezel,
make sure the bezel is in the
open position and push in on
the tabs (marked with arrows
on the computer) with your thumbs. Then push the base of
the bezel in and pull it straight up to release it from the hinge.
Replacing the
Color Accent Kit
You can personalize your
Presario by replacing the
front bezel with your
favorite colour. Please
look at your local Compaq
website for details. (See
Chapter 2).
The color kit includes a
front bezel for your PC, an
Internet Keyboard plate,
and speaker grills.
You do not have to replace
the screw securing the side
access panel. This screw is
used for shipping purposes
only.
