Getting Help
For set-up and connection problems with your CD-Recorder,
refer to the manufacturer’s Installation Guide.
For problems with the Adaptec software, explanations of error
messages, and more, refer to the software’s Online Help.
Troubleshooting Tips
Creating a CD is a sensitive process. If your computer has too
many tasks to fullfil at the same time, you may run into so called
buffer underruns. This means that the data stream to the CD
writer has been broken and the CD will become unusable.
If you get error messages or the CD you created is not working
properly or not working at all, please try the following general
troubleshooting tips:
➜
While burning a CD do not start any other programs and wait
until the CD is ready.
➜
Close all running applications before launching Easy CD
Creator by pressing [CTRL] + [ALT] + [DEL] and End
Task on all except ‘Explorer’ and ‘Systray’.
➜
Run both Scandisk and Defrag on the hard disk(s). (To run
click on Start, Programs, Accessories, and System Tools.)
➜
Clean Temp directory, in \WINDOWS\TEMP - move or
delete all files and folders.
➜
Disable screen savers and ALL power management.
➜
Do not multi-task while recording, close all other programs.
➜
Do not record from a compressed drive.
➜
Log off all network connections.
➜
Make sure the C: drive has plenty of free space. The
recommended amount is about 1 ½ times the amount you
want to record to CD.
