FOLD / FIELD Troubleshooting (2013+ 5-Section only)
Problem Cause Solution
Fold or Unfold
Abnormal with Switch
Box Indicator
Illuminated Circuit to solenoid valves broken, typically a
disconnected harness at hitch Check harness connections at hitch,
then, check for 12 Vdc at solenoids.
Outer wings folding in
field lift No power to outer wing fold solenoid, or switch
in FOLD or PARK Check connections and continuity, or
set switch to FIELD.
Air in hydraulic system Cycle system several times, and as
needed bleed hydraulics (page 121).
Outer wings not folding
before inner wings
Possible harness problem Check connections.
Unfold: Inner wings do
not stop at wings-level
Switch not in FOLD Check switch position and indicator
lamps
No power to switch or harness Check power to switch, harness
connections at hitch.
Defective switch, damaged harness Check 12 Vdc at solenoids.
One inner wing unfold
does not stop at
wings-level Proximity switch damaged or disconnected Check 12 Vdc at solenoids.
Inner proximity switch Mis-adjusted If 12 Vdc present, check/adjust
switch, see “Unfold Stop
Adjustment” on page 122.
Field fold: wings do not
stop at gull-wing Switch not in FIELD Check switch position and indicator
lamps
No power to switch or harness Check power to switch, harness
connections at hitch.
Defective switch, damaged harness Check 12 Vdc at solenoids.
Field fold: outer wing
does not reach
gull-wing Air in system Cycle system several times, and as
needed bleed hydraulics (page 121).
Field fold: one wing
does not stop at
gull-wing Proximity switch damaged or disconnected Check 12 Vdc at solenoids.
Inner proximity switch Mis-adjusted If 12 Vdc present, check/adjust
switch, see “Field Fold Stop
Adjustment” on page 123.
Outer wing does not
unfold at all Automatic wing latch stuck Slightly re-fold to release latch. If latch
does not release, lubricate pivot.
Insufficient oil flow to system Increase flow on fold/lift circuit.
Wings won’t fold at all. Switch in FIELD Set switch to FOLD.
Loose connection on weight transfer solenoid Check harness connections and
12 Vdc at solenoid.
