Hopper Strap Maintenance (Option)
This applies only to the 150bu hopper. The 82bu hopper
and bulk seed boxes have no straps.
Refer to Figure 136
A new 150bu hopper requires periodic attention to the
hopper strap, as the hopper initially seats, and thereafter
due to continued hopper seating and strap stretching.
Check tension before and after filling the hopper, and
periodically during the first season. Seasonally check
tension and inspect the strap for wear and damage.
Replace if frayed or torn.
To tension:
1.
Choose one end of the strap to work with (both ends
are adjustable).
2.
Loosen the tensioning nut
and back it off until
flush with the top of the bolt threads
.
3.
Cinch
the strap to remove all slack.
4.
Fully tighten the tensioning nut.
