Treatment Delivery Troubleshooting

Problem

Cause

Solution

Incorrect Rate,
All Rows

Speed is different from chart or calibrated
rate.

Use determined speed, or determine new meter
setting. Treatment meter rate depends almost entirely
on gate setting (via knob and dial), which is selected for
a specific field speed. If the actual speed is higher, the
application rate will be lower, and vice versa.

Rate Incorrect,
One Row

Meter setting doesn’t match other rows.

Meter gate needs calibration,

Rate Low, One
Row

Clutch or chain skipping

Check clutch alignment and engagement. Check chain
slack.

Rate Zero, One
Row

Meter clutch not engaged.

Chain break to seed meter shaft.

Meter gate clogged.
