Exchanging Meters
These steps are only for changing between types of
meters. Changing brush meter seed plates (page 60)
does not require meter removal.
Agricultural Chemical Hazard:
Follow material supplier recommendations carefully. Handle
the meter as if it were treated seed. use supplier-recommended
cleaning agents. Any seed treatment build-up inside a meter is
likely to be at a higher concentration than on the actual seed.
Refer to Figure 60
1.
Remove and empty the seed hopper (page 74). Put
the lid back on to capture any bolts
that fall away.
2. Remove two nuts washers and the meter .
3. Install new meter. Tighten

-18 nuts to Grade 2
torque specification. Do not over-tighten, or you may
damage the hopper. Re-install the hopper (page 34).
4. Clean and dry removed meters. See “Finger Pickup
Meter Maintenance” on page 83.
5. Store removed meters in pest-proof containers, such
as plastic bags.
