1. Electrical Planning
In addition to the standard three conduits carrying wash signal wiring,
communications wiring, and AC power wiring, you will need the following:
A conduit between the Wash Select II and the barrier gate to carry 115-
120VAC wiring.
A conduit between the barrier gate and the Wash Select II unit to carry signal
wiring.
A short conduit between the gate reset loop and the gate.
You will need a thin tipped, flat head screwdriver to open and tighten the relay
connections of the Phoenix connector.
Locate phoenix connectors J18 and J19 on the CPU board inside the Wash
Select II. Remove those connectors to attach wires on the Wash Select II side
and then replace them when the wiring is complete.
See the installation documentation that comes with the gate for details on
wiring the 120 VAC power to the gate.
The Gate requires 115-120 VAC on a 5-Amp dedicated breaker, which should be
provided during wash construction. Most installers will have power supplied directly
from one of the three phases used to power the wash motors and controllers. If this
method is used, special attention should be given to proper grounding at the unit, as
well as in the breaker panel.
Warning:
The AC Power conduit must be positioned a minimum of 12” away from the Gate Loop
to prevent electromagnetic interference.
The barrier gate control signal wires should be a minimum of 18awg. You will need to
pull 4 control wires from the barrier gate to the Wash Select II. These wires can be
run in the same conduit. Plan your conduit runs so that the barrier gate control signal
wiring and the Gate Loop wiring come up through the bottom of the base of the Gate.
2. Mechanical Planning
Position the gate so that the gate arm is 10’-12’ from the Wash Select II centerline in
line with the Wash Select II unit.
