Simply Serging
•
Attach the Upper Looper Converter.
•
Following the directions in the Instruction Manual, attach the Deco Guide
over the Lower Looper Tension Slit.
•
Thread the Lower Looper with the decorative thread. Thread the first Thread
Guide. The thread will pass through the Deco Guide skipping the tension disk.
•
Turn the Stitch Selection Dial to “E”.
•
Adjust Stitch Length to 4. You can slowly shorten the Stitch Length as you
serge to fill in the Flatlock stitch.
•
Sew the sample.
•
If the tension on the decorative thread is too tight, remove the thread from
Thread Guide #5 and try again.
•
If the tension on the decorative thread is still too tight, remove the thread
from Thread Guide #7 and try again.
•
If the tension is still too tight, remove the thread from the first Thread Guide
and try again. You may need to rethread guides #5 and/or #7 to slightly
increase the tension.
•
Experiment with the suggested threads, by-passing Thread Guides as needed.
•
Press, trim, and mount the samples on the next page.
