Serger Library – Tips and Tricks
•
Thread the serger for a 3-thread Overlock stitch using the Left Needle.
•
Turn the Stitch Selection Dial to “A” on the Stitch Display Panel.
•
Serge finish one 5” raw edge on each piece of fabric.
•
Using your BERNINA sewing machine and a standard

” seam allowance, seam
the two pieces of fabric together along the serged edges.
•
Press the seam open.
•
Trim and mount the sample.
FABRIC:
2 pieces medium weight wool 2½” X 5”

THREAD:
3 cones of serger thread
PRESSER FOOT: Standard
Use a wide 3-thread Overlock as a
seam finish on woven fabrics.
Wrap the fabric edge with strips of bias cut tricot
or water soluble stabilizer before serging for
added support while stitching.
