Before opening the case
1. Follow your operating system’s shutdown procedure to turn off the
computer.
2. Unplug all computer and peripheral device power cables from the wall
outlets or from your surge protector.
3. Disconnect all cables from the computer.
Failure to disconnect power, telecommunications links, networks, or
modems before you open the case or start any procedure can result in
personal injury or damage to equipment. Some circuitry on the
motherboard may continue to operate even though the power is off.
Removing the side panels
In the following instructions, the directions “left” and “right” assume you
are facing the back of the system unit.
Removing the left panel
1. Remove the two screws that attach the left panel to the rear of the
cabinet.
Locating the case screws
2. Pull the left panel toward you about an inch, then lift it up and off the
machine.
