3.2 Installing Recovery Manager
Before installing Recovery Manager, install the InForm OS Command Line Interface (CLI) for
remote clients. For details on installing the CLI, see the 3PAR InForm OS Command Line
Interface Reference. You must also install the 3PAR VSS Provider application before installing
Recovery Manager for Microsoft Exchange. Install Recovery Manager for Exchange on a host
computer where Microsoft Exchange is running.
To install Recovery Manager:
1 Log on as the System Administrator.
CAUTION: Backup your data before upgrading the Recovery Manager or all data
will be lost. See Upgrading to Recovery Manager for Exchange on page 3.2 for
instructions on performing a backup.
NOTE: The Recovery Manager for Exchange 2010 repository location is
drive>:\Program Files\3PAR\RME\Exchange\Repository_E2010 .
NOTE: If you are installing the application through a Remote Desktop session, the
newly added environment variables will not become effective until you log off
the session. It is recommended that you install the application directly from the
system console.
WARNING: Before installing Recovery Manager, create a backup of your
repository data.
NOTE: In order to log in as the System Administrator, you must have Exchange
server and system administrator rights.
