products. The maximum increase may be as much as doubled. The amount of increase in the
copy time depends on the number of pairs set to the program product.
The phrase other program products refers to the following program products:
◦
XP Auto LUN
◦
XP Business Copy
◦
ShadowImage for Mainframe
◦
FlashCopy Mirroring

for the migrated volume is 50 IOPS for one volume.
•
Maintenance. Do not perform XP Auto LUN migration operations during storage system
maintenance activities (for example, installation, replacement, uninstallation of cache or drives,
other configuration changes, or replacement of the microcode). The XP Auto LUN operation
might fail if the volume migration operation is executed in this situation.
•
Auto migration parameters to be initialized when the storage system configuration changes.
Auto migration parameters are initialized when a change is made to the storage system
configuration. For example, the parameters are initialized when new drives or LDEVs are
installed. The parameters include the disk usage limit and the migration time. After a change
is made to the storage system configuration, you must specify auto migration parameters
again.
•
Notes on powering off the storage system: Before turning the power off at the storage system,
confirm that the volume migration has finished. Do not turn off the power until the migration
is finished.
If you turn the power off during migration, some of the data is not migrated. If the power is
restored later, XP Auto LUN resumes. XP Auto LUN first attempts to copy unmigrated data that
was left in the shared memory (which is a volatile memory) when the power failed. However,
if that data was lost from the shared memory, XP Auto LUN begins recopying all the data—both
the uncopied data not previously migrated as well as the data previously copied to the
migration destination before the power interruption.
NOTE:
The storage system documentation sometimes uses the term PS ON, which refers to
an operation for turning on the power supply to the storage system. Also, the documentation
sometimes uses the term PS OFF, which refers to an operation for turning off the power supply
to the storage system.
•
Note on setting Cache Residency: Cache Residency must not be set on the volume to be
migrated.
