To undock your OmniBook
•
Press the Undock button on the docking system.
After the OmniBook closes down any connections to the docking system, the
docking system ejects the computer.
You can protect against unauthorized undocking using your OmniBook password. See
“To setup a password”
.
If for some reason you can’t undock the OmniBook using the Undock button, you can
manually undock it. Insert a paper clip or other thin object into the security opening and
press firmly. Continue holding, and slide the OmniBook forward. Since manual
undocking overrides any password, you need to keep a Kensington lock in the security
slot to absolutely enforce password protection.
To use your docked system
Follow these suggestions while using the docking system and attached devices with your
OmniBook.
Power
•
The docking system is on when its power cord from
the provided adapter is plugged in. The system’s
On/Off button turns the OmniBook on and off.
•
The undock button doesn’t work without power.
External keyboard
•
You can use the built-in and external keyboards while
docked.
External PS/2 mouse
•
You can use either an external mouse or the trackball
while docked, but not both. The OmniBook
automatically detects the external mouse.

You can disable the external mouse through the
System Configuration utility (SCU):
1. Press FN+F2 to start the SCU.
2. From the Input/Output menu, choose External
Devices.
3. Choose Ignore External Pointing Device, then
choose OK.
4. From the Exit menu, choose Save and Reboot.
Sound
•
You can disable the OmniBook’s internal stereo
speakers with the Mute Notebook Speakers switch at
the back of the docking system.
Network connection
•
A network connection is lost whenever you undock
your OmniBook. You may have to reboot to
reestablish the connection.
Infrared port on OmniBook
•
This port is not available while docked.
To tilt the keyboard while docked
Your docking system comes equipped with adjustable feet so you can make the notebook
keyboard more comfortable.
