selected server’s policy), Recovery Manager creates both the CCR virtual copy and its
backup on the backup server of the selected server.

Recovery Manager does not create the backup if you are using a numeric-based policy
and:

The policy is not configured to remove the oldest virtual copies (i.e., the Remove the
oldest Virtual Copies checkbox is not checked), and
◦
You have reached the maximum number of virtual copies allowed and therefore
Recovery Manager cannot create a new virtual copy.

Verify that the virtual copy has been backed up. To do so, ensure that the GUI displays the

Scheduling Automatic Backups at the Mailbox Database/Storage Group Level
To schedule automatic backups of a mailbox databases/storage groups:
1.
In the node tree pane, right-click the mailbox database/storage group you want to back up,
and select Backup to Media.
2.
In the Backup to Media dialog box, enter the appropriate information. For more information,
see
“Manually Creating Backups at the Mailbox/Storage Group Level ” (page 47)
3.
Click Next.
4.
In the Task Scheduler, schedule backups as desired. For more information, see
Automated Tasks with Task Scheduler” (page 44)

Creating a Backup of a Virtual Copy
When you create a backup of one virtual copy, Recovery Manager copies the existing virtual copy,
and the backup software backs the copy up to the media using the same timestamp as the original
copy. Recovery Manager does not create a new virtual copy for backups of an individual virtual
copy.
