Server installation can remotely create virtual copies on multiple mailbox servers (with a Recovery
Manager Agent installation) and manage all virtual copies on the backup server.
This type of configuration is recommended if you need to manage multiple mailbox servers or are
in a clustered environment.

NOTE: The Exchange System Management Tools is required on the Recovery Manager backup
server for validation purposes. In addition, the mailbox servers (Exchange Servers for Exchange
2007) and the Management Tools must be the exact same version.
NOTE: All mailbox servers (or Exchange Servers for Exchange 2007), including the Recovery
Manager backup server, must be in the same Windows domain (unless you have configured
Recovery Manager to use multiple Active Directory domains).
Single Host Backup Configuration
A single host backup configuration, shown in Figure 3 (page 14) , allows you to manage virtual
copies locally on the Mailbox/Exchange Server.
