amount of these values must not exceed FS’s licensed capacity.

Shared memory and the management area
FS requires dedicated shared memory (SM) for the FS pair management area. The FS pair
management area is an area used to store information for associating FS pairs. This area is
automatically created when you install SM.
To install the SM, contact HP Technical Support.

Shared memory requirements
The following table shows FS SM requirements:

40GB From 7.9PB to 12.3PB
*You must expand SM if pool capacity is more than 1.1PB.

You can reduce or remove shared memory.
Prerequisite: The pools for THP, Smart, and FS have been deleted.
