In the Confirm window of the Delete Pools wizard, complete the following and then click Apply:
•
For Task Name, type a task name.
Character and symbol limit: 32
Allowable characters: All alphanumeric except \ / : , ; * ? " < > |
Default: date-task name
•
For Go to tasks window for status, select to open the task window.
Default: Cleared
•
Click Next to erase data from the volume (volume shredding).

and Mainframe Systems User Guide.
The pool is deleted.
Managing virtual volumes
You can manage pools and V-VOLs in the following ways:

Edit V-VOL names (see
“Editing virtual volume names” (page 132)
).
•
Release V-VOL definitions (see
“Releasing virtual volume definitions” (page 135)
).
•
Delete V-VOLs (see
“Workflow for deleting V-VOLs specified for Fast Snap S-VOLs” (page 135)
).
Editing virtual volume names
You can edit a virtual volume’s name as well as view information about LDEVs in the Pools
window.

In the resource tree in the Explorer, click Pools > Pool Name > Virtual Volumes.
