Performing Remote Copy Between an XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array and
an XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array
XP Continuous Access Journal can be used to perform remote copy operations between an
XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array and an XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array. Data can be copied from
the XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array to the XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array, or vice versa.
This section explains the following:
•
Logical storage system (LDKC) that can be connected to an HP XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array
(see
“Logical Storage System (LDKC) That Can Be Connected to an XP12000/XP10000 Disk
)
•
Volume pair that can create pairs (see
“Volume that can Be Used to Create Pairs” (page 114)
•
Connection with an HP XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array in a 3DC remote copy configuration
(see
“Connection with an HP XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array for a 3DC Remote Copy
Logical Storage System (LDKC) That Can Be Connected to an XP12000/XP10000
Disk Array
To execute a remote copy from an HP XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array to an HP XP12000/XP10000
Disk Array, or vice versa, configure a logical path between the LDKC of the HP XP24000/XP20000
Disk Array and the HP XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array. In this case, the logical path can be
configured only between LDKC00 on the HP XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array and HP
XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array. Therefore, you cannot configure a logical path between LDKC01
on the HP XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array and HP XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array (see
).
More than one HP XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array can be connected to LDKC00 on the HP
XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array.
The steps to configure a logical path between an HP XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array and an HP
XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array are the same as the steps to set the logical paths between volumes
on an HP XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array. For detailed information about the steps to configure
logical paths, see
“Configuring Storage Systems and Logical Paths” (page 143)
