Error Codes and Messages
The Remote Web Console software displays error messages when error conditions occur during
XP Continuous Access operations (see
). The error message describes the error
and provides a part code and error code (Part Code = 6005, Error Code = 8736 in
). The error message may also include a storage system SVP error code. If you need to call HP
technical support for assistance, report the error code(s). See the storage system document HP
XP24000/XP20000 Remote Web Console Error Codes for a list of the error codes displayed on
the Remote Web Console computer.
Figure 56 XP Continuous Access Error Message for a Failed Delete RCU Operation
The Delete RCU failed because the RCU still contains one or more pairs with the current MCU.
Troubleshooting When Using RAID Manager
When an error has occurred in XP Continuous Access Software pair operation using RAID Manager,
you might identify the cause of the error by referring to the log displayed on the RAID Manager
window or in the RAID Manager operation log file. The RAID Manager operation log file is stored
in the following directory by default.
The log file is stored in: /HORCM/log*/curlog/horcmlog_HOST/horcm.log
•
* is the instance number.
•
HOST is the host name.
To identify the error code using the log file, follow the procedure below. For more information
about RAID Manager, see the HP XP RAID Manager User's Guide.
1.
Open the RAID Manager log file, and find the error code.
Example: 11:06:03-37897-10413- SSB = 0xB901,4A96
Error codes appear on the right of the equal symbol (=). On the left of the comma (,) is code
SSB1 (for example, B901) and to the right of the comma (,) is code SSB2 (for example, 4A96).
2.
See
“Error Code and Error Contents When Operating RAID Manager” (page 158)
to find the
meaning of the error code.
For details about the error codes that are not described in
“Error Code and Error Contents
When Operating RAID Manager” (page 158)
, contact HP technical support. See
