Adding
Agents (Nodes)
To add an agent to Performance Essentials, either by itself or to an existing
configuration, follow these steps. NOTE: Before installing, be sure to know the IP
address or DNS name of the system on which the agent is running, and the user
name and password of the owner of the agent process. Also make sure that the
agents have been registered, started and are running.
(1) For SIM v5.2:
------------
a) Use the top SIM Menu: Options -> Discovery, Manual Tab
Note: You may use automatic discovery, but manual discovery seems to work
best.
b) Type in the IP address or DNS name of the agent.
c) Click on the More Settings button, go to the WBEM Settings, check
'Use Custom' and provide the username and password for the agent.
Note: It is not required to enter the Port number.
d) Click the Add System button.
e) Do this for all agents you have running.
