10. Verify successful completion.
The rpm pre-install process will check for JRE installation as well as its version. If JRE
1.5.0_10 or later is not found, rpm will exit with appropriate error message.
Otherwise, successful installation will install Linux agent. Agents are installed in
/var/www/html/simagent-0.1
directory because the default web server used by
Enterprise Edition Redhat Linux is Apache web server. If you would like to use a
different web server, you can copy the files from the directory in which they have
been installed to the directory of the web server you would like to use.
After you have successfully installed the Linux agent, enter the following command
on your Linux server: rm -r /tmp/PE-SIM. This will remove the temporary directory
that you used to install the Linux agent.
4.1.2.
Initial Setup
Linux agent monitors CPU, Disk, Process and Network entities. The refresh rate of all
the entities is 15 seconds. Only the top 10 busiest instances per entity are reported
to the Performance Essentials SIM plug-in component by default. For CPU and
Network entities, all instances are reported.
Note that these entity parameter values for refresh rate and top n busiest instances
per entity are configurable in HP SIM. Refer to the
section for more details.
A successful Linux installation will have the following directory structure from the
(default) base directory /var/www/html:
/simagent-0.1
class.TcpClient.php
config.php
license.dat
license.php
properties.dat
worker.php
