Troubleshooting items addressed in this section:
•
After period of inactivity, the emplate appears available to edit, until saving the template is
attempted.
•
Special characters do not validate in Cost units field in Designer.
•
A virtual IP address can be assigned only to the first network connected to the server group.
•
Troubleshooting communication failures.
•
Fatal error occurred while initializing the Designer.
•
With IE6, launching Designer from Insight Orchestration console can cause sporadic Designer
interface failures. Insight Orchestration console in Systems Insight Manager displays the
following message: “The HP Insight Orchestration tool cannot be displayed.”
•
Insight Orchestration console in Systems Insight Manager displays the following message: The
HP Insight Orchestration tool cannot be displayed and the error dialog displays: User not
authenticated.

The Insight Orchestration Designer session service has expired. Possible cause
Designer logs you out, but preserves the changes. To save the template, login, recover the
modifications, and then save the template. Action
Special characters do not validate in Cost units field in Designer. Issue
— Possible cause
The Insight Orchestration Designer does not validate the Cost units text field. To avoid displaying
unexpected characters, do not enter special characters in the Cost units field when configuring the
template. Action
A virtual IP address can be assigned only to the first network connected to the server group. Issue
— Possible cause
The Insight Orchestration Designer enables you to define virtual IP addresses for a server group. If
multiple networks are connected to the group, Insight Orchestration only enables you to assign Action
virtual IP addresses to the first network listed for the server group. Networks are listed in alphanumeric
order.
To workaround this issue, do one of the following:
•
Start the network name with an “a”, placing the network you want to use first in the list.
•
Export and edit the template XML, changing the network assigned to the virtual IP.
Troubleshooting communication failures. Issue
— Possible cause
Action • Verify that the vCenter credentials are correct on Systems Insight Manager.
•
Verify that the virtual machine hosts are correctly registered to Insight Control virtual machine
management usage and are not reporting issues on Systems Insight Manager
• Verify that HP Insight Dynamics is correctly displaying the resources (physical or virtual.)
•
Verify that you have added the Onboard Administrator credentials to enclosure node on Systems
Insight Manager
Fix any communication issues and then wait for the next synchronization cycle. The resources should
display correctly in the Insight Orchestration Unassigned Pool.
