Setting up Polled Transmission
Polled Transmission is when you set up your MFC to wait with an
original document so another fax machine can call and retrieve it.

If it is not illuminated in green, press ( Fax ). Load the
original document that is going to be retrieved.

Press Menu , 2 , 2 , 6 .

Press or to choose On (or
Off ).
Press Set .

Press 1 for Doc to leave the paper original document waiting in
the ADF.
—OR—
Press 2 for Memory to scan the original document into the
memory.

Press 1 if you want to choose more settings and the LCD will
return to the Setup Send menu.
—OR—
Press 2 if you have finished choosing settings, and go to step 6.

Press Start .
If you chose Memory in Step 4, the MFC starts scanning the
original document.

If you press 1 in Step 4, the original document remains in the
ADF until your MFC is polled. If you must use your MFC
before the polled transmission occurs, you must first cancel
this job.

If you press 2 in Step 4, the original document will be stored
and can be retrieved from any other fax machine until you
delete the fax in memory by using the Canceling a Job
setting. (See Canceling a scheduled job on page 6-9.)
