Troubleshooting Guide

Problem
Cause
Remedy
1. All yellow lights flashing
together.
1a. IR sensor cell has become
unseated.
1a. Remove sensor access door
and push both ends of sensor
down. (Do not remove/reinsert
sensor cell.) Restart unit and
examine.
1b. IR sensor cell has failed.
1b. Replace with new sensor.
2. Will not detect refrigerant.
2a. Unit may not be warmed up
and ready to use.
2a. If yellow lights are scrolling,
wait 90 seconds to see if the
unit starts to beep and the lights
stop scrolling.
2b. Pump may have failed.
2b. You should hear the pump
running after the warm-up
sequence is completed. Verify
it is not a low battery condition
(see #3).
2c. Air tubing inside may have
come disconnected.
2c. Contact Tracer Products.
2d. Battery may be dead.

3. After warm-up sequence the
green, the last yellow and
the amber charging LEDs
flash.
3a. Battery needs recharging.
3a. Charge battery for 10-12 hours.

Warranty and Liability
Your PRO-Alert 2791 Electronic Refrigerant Leak Detector is of the finest design and craftsmanship. As such,
Tracer Products warrants that when delivered it will be free from defects in manufacture.
Tracer Products’ obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing, at the option of Tracer
Products, any part(s) of the product which, if properly installed, used and maintained, proves upon factory
examination to have been defective in materials or workmanship within two years from the date of delivery.
Tracer Products does not warrant components that deteriorate under normal use, including the power stick,
infrared absorption element and filters. In addition, Tracer Products does not warrant any instrument that
has been subjected to misuse, negligence or accident, or has been repaired or altered by anyone other than
Tracer Products.
This warranty is in place of all other warranties of quality. There are no other warranties either oral,
written, express, implied or statutory. IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF FITNESS FOR PURPOSE AND
MERCHANTABILITY ARE EXCLUDED. This warranty and your remedies thereunder are solely as stated
in this manual. In no event shall Tracer Products be liable for special, indirect, incidental or consequential
damages, nor for any damages arising out of delay in shipment or production.
Return Authorization Procedure
A defective PRO-Alert 2791, or a defective replacement part or accessory, should be returned to your
wholesaler for warranty evaluation. If you have any questions, please contact the Customer Service
Department at Tracer Products.
NOTE: Do not return your defective unit directly to the factory without first contacting Tracer Products for a
Return Authorization Number.
