Section 7: PC2250 Utility Software
Introduction
The PC2250 utility software program can be used to set up and configure the
FB2250. It is required in order to program certain features such as custom units and
custom ticket vector programming. The F2250 uses port 2 to communicate to the
computer.

Communication settings
The com port settings for the computer are accessible by
pressing F2. Recommended settings are 9600 baud, 8
data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, continuous mode.
Set VERSION to match the FB2250. The version is
displayed at the warm-up screen of the FB2250.
Set the FB2250 Port 2 to the same settings, and then exit
from program mode.
NOTE: If Port Settings does NOT contain “VERSION”, it is recommended to
upgrade the PC2250 software program in order to interface properly to
Rev 2.0+. The PC2250 Software Utility is available for download at the
Fairbanks Intranet website Product page for the FB2250.
Upon launching the PC2250.exe file,
an image of the FB2250 will be
displayed on the computer monitor.
The legend “CONNECTED” with a
rotating baton should be displayed at
the left (1). The weight display will
duplicate what is displayed on the
FB2250. Left clicking the mouse on any of the keys will transmit that command to the
FB2250 (excluding the PRINT key), and the legend “COMMAND SENT!” will
momentarily be displayed at the right (2). Mouse clicking the ON/OFF key will
terminate the PC2250 software program.
