To force the serial server to send buffered data if another character is
not received within a certain period of time
1. Select:
I want to send data immediately when no more characters are

2. Type the desired time period (in milliseconds) into the text box.
To force the serial server to start buffering data only when it receives a
specified ASCII character on its serial port
1. Select:
I want to send data immediately when a specific character is
received by the serial port
in the
Delimiter 1
box.
2. Type the decimal value for the ASCII character into the text box. For
instance, if you want to send data when a ‘$’ is received, enter ‘36’ into the
test box.
Note:
If Delimiter 1 is selected, Delimiter 2 must also be used.
To force the serial server to send its buffered data when it receives a
specified ASCII character on its serial port
1. Select:
I want to send data immediately when another specific character
is received by the serial port
in the
Delimiter 2
box.
2. Type the decimal value for the ASCII character into the text box. For
instance, if you want to send data when a ‘$’ is received, enter ‘36’ into the
test box.
To force the serial server to remove the delimiter characters from the
received data when it sends it on to the Ethernet network
1. Select:
I want to remove the delimiter characters from the data before
sending the data.
