With Windows 2000, check the computer according to the following
procedure.

Right-click the My Computer icon on the desktop, and then
click Properties in the shortcut menu that appears. The System
Properties dialog appears.

Click the Hardware tab of the System Properties dialog, and
then click the Device Manager button.
If XXX to USB Universal Host Controller (with XXX differing
according to your computer) and USB Root Hub appear below
Universal serial bus controller , your computer is USB-com-
patible.
Was the computer correctly set up?
In order for the computer to use the Laser Printer 300 Series printer
through a USB connection, the computer must be set up correctly.
• For details on connecting the printer to the computer, refer to “Con-
necting to a Computer” on page 2-18.
• For details on installing the USB device driver, refer to “Installing
