Installing the String Monitoring Box
DANGER
Lethal voltages are still present in the terminals and leads in the string monitoring box even
after the string monitoring box has been switched off and disconnected.
Touching the leads and terminals in the string monitoring box can result in severe injury or death.
To ensure maximum protection from hazardous voltages while assembling photovoltaic systems,
both the positive and the negative leads must be fully isolated from the protective earth (PE).
Only authorised electricians approved by the supply grid operator may open and install the string
monitoring box.
Before an electrical connection is made, the string monitoring box must be mounted in a fixed
position.

›
Disconnect the DC side.
›
Secure it against being inadvertently switched back on.
›
Make sure there is absolutely no voltage present.
›
Do not connect the string monitoring box until the above steps have been taken.
