11 Decommissioning
11.1 Decommissioning the DC Subdistribution
Danger to life from electric shock due to live voltage
High voltages are present in the live components of the DC subdistribution. Touching live
components results in death or serious injury due to electric shock.
• Disconnect the inverter from all voltage sources on the DC side (see the inverter manual).
• Disconnect the DC subdistribution from voltage sources (see Section 8.2, page 47)
• Disconnect all DC sub-distributions that are connected in parallel in the DC connection area
(see the manual of the respective DC sub-distribution).
Procedure:
1. Disconnect the DC subdistribution from voltage sources (see Section 8.2, page 47)
2. Remove protective covers in the DC subdistribution (see Section 12.2, page 63).
3. Remove all cables leading into the DC subdistribution.
4. Close the enclosure openings for the cables and seal with suitable material (e.g., filler plugs).
5. Dismantle the DC subdistribution as follows:
• Disassemble the DC subdistribution from the pole (see installation manual "Pole Mounting
Set for SMA String-Monitors").
or
• Disassemble the DC subdistribution from the wall or substructure of the PV modules (see
6. Remount the protective covers on the DC subdistribution (see Section 12.2, page 63).
7. Close the DC subdistribution.
11.2 Disassembling the DC Subdistribution from the Wall
Danger to life from electric shock due to live voltage
High voltages are present in the live components of the DC subdistribution. Touching live
components results in death or serious injury due to electric shock.
• Disconnect the inverter from all voltage sources on the DC side (see the inverter manual).
• Disconnect the DC subdistribution from voltage sources (see Section 8.2, page 47)
• Disconnect all DC sub-distributions that are connected in parallel in the DC connection area
(see the manual of the respective DC sub-distribution).
