10.3.10 Checking the Inline Fuse Connectors
Danger to life due to electric arc
An electric arc may occur when plugging or removing the DC connectors or the inline fuse
connectors under load and in case of a reverse-poled connection of the DC connectors. Electric
arcs can result in death or serious injury.
• Ensure the correct polarity of the strings before connection.
• Plug or remove DC connectors and inline fuse connectors only under load-free conditions.
• Disconnect the DC sub-distribution (see the DC sub-distribution manual).
• Wear suitable personal protective equipment.
The inline fuse connectors are available as accessories (see Section 14, page 72).
A description of how to check the inline fuse connectors can be found in the installation manual
"IFCON Inline Fuse Connector Set16".
10.3.11 Checking the Ground Connection
Danger to life from electric shock due to live voltage
High voltages are present in the live components of the DC subdistribution. Touching live
components results in death or serious injury due to electric shock.
• Disconnect the inverter from all voltage sources on the DC side (see the inverter manual).
• Disconnect the DC subdistribution from voltage sources (see Section 8.2, page 47)
• Disconnect all DC sub-distributions that are connected in parallel in the DC connection area
(see the manual of the respective DC sub-distribution).
Procedure:
1. Disconnect the DC subdistribution from voltage sources (see Section 8.2, page 47)
2. Remove protective covers in the DC subdistribution (see Section 12.2, page 63).
3. Ensure that the ground connection and the contact resistance to the ground potential are
correct.
10.4 Completing Maintenance Work
1. Remount the protective covers in the DC subdistribution (see Section 12.2, page 63).
2. Switch the DC subdistribution back on (see Section 8.3, page 47).
