Mathematical formulas are programmed according to the following
rules:
Higher-level operations are performed first
1. Calculation step 5 * 3 = 15
2. Calculation step 2 * 10 = 20
3. Calculation step 15 + 20 = 35
or
1. Calculation step 102 = 100
2. Calculation step 33 = 27
3. Calculation step 100 –27 = 73
Distributive law
for calculating with parentheses
a * (b + c) = a * b + a * c
