Configuring SQL Server
To set up SQL server properties:
1. Select
Start | Programs | Microsoft SQL Server | Enterprise Manager
.
2. Expand the Tree view to reveal the DSM machine by clicking the “+” next
to “Microsoft SQL Servers” and also next to “SQL Server Group.”
3. Right click on the DSM’s icon and select
Properties
. (Except as noted in the
following steps, do not change default values.)
a. Click the Security tab. Under Authentication, make sure that
SQL Server
and Windows
is selected.
b. Click the Memory tab. The
Dynamically configure SQL Server
memory
radio button should be selected. Use the Maximum slide bar to
set the memory limit to 256 MB less than the server’s memory size. For
example, for a server with 512 MB of memory, the setting is 256 MB.
4. Click
OK
to save settings and close the SQL Server Properties dialog box.
