Installing Windows 2003 Server Software
Install the Windows 2003 Server software following the network configuration
for your news station.
See the Microsoft Windows 2003 Security Configuration Guide or the
Windows 2003 Server Online Help for more information.
Installing SQL Server
To install the SQL Server on the DSM:
1. Insert the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition into the machine’s
CD-ROM drive.
2. The installation program starts automatically and guides you through the
installation process as follows:
On this screen... Do this...
Opening screen Select SQL Server 2000 Components .
Install Components Select Install Database Server .
Welcome Click Next .
Computer Name Select Local Computer . Verify computer name.
Installation Selection Select Create a new instance of SQL Server, or install Client
Tools .
User Information Enter name and company.
License Read and accept, then click Yes .
CD Key Enter key.
Install Definition Select Server and Client Tools .
Instance Name Select Default .
Setup Type Select Typical .
