System Requirements
The maxReality plug-in is an Autodesk® 3ds Max® (

not included

) utility that utilizes

3ds Max scenes and objects to create virtual and augmented reality content. One of
the following versions of 3ds Max must be installed on your computer prior to
installing the maxReality plug-in.

The following Autodesk products are supported in both 32 & 64-bit versions:

Autodesk 3ds Max - 2010, 2011 and 2012
Autodesk 3ds Max Design - 2010, 2011 and 2012

Note:

All versions of above products will be referred to generically in this manual as “3ds Max”.

Minimum computer system requirements are as per those specified for 3ds Max.

Video Capture
Video capture can utilize the stereo cameras from a Vuzix Wrap AR video eyewear or
a standard USB webcam.

Video Display
Video playback can be either in mono 2D video or side-by-side stereoscopic 3D
video. 2D video will display on virtually any standard desktop or laptop monitor or
through any Vuzix video eyewear enabled on a computer. Stereoscopic 3D video
requires a side-by-side format supporting Vuzix video eyewear enabled for a
Windows based computer.

Tip:

A Wrap 920AR video eyewear system provides the best available system for displaying and
interacting with maxReality output in stereoscopic 3D.

Note:

maxReality content is not compatible with the Vuzix iWear™ VR920.

Tracking
maxReality supports tracking through the Vuzix Wrap Tracker 6TC and/or ALVAR
markers. 3-degrees of freedom (3-DoF) head tracking is supported through the Wrap
Tracker 6TC. Yaw, pitch and roll are supported.
