Load Test
Warning
Mains voltage applied to appliance
The Power test supplies the equipment under test (appliance),
connected to 115V/230V test sockets, with the rated voltage of that
socket.
The Tester measures the power used by the appliance and displays
the reading in kVA. There is no test duration limit on the Power tests.
Once supplied with power, the appliance will be supplied until the test
is cancelled. This will allow appliances with slow start-up speeds the
time to ramp up to their working state.
RCD Test
Warning
Mains voltage applied to appliance
Note: When performing RCD tests disconnect the Supernova Elite
from any computers or printers. Failure to do may cause an in-line
RCD powering the Supernova Elite to trip.
The RCD Test supplies the lead under test connected to the 230V
socket with the rated supply voltage.
When the lead has been detected and that the RCD reset button has
been pressed a 30mA current is applied to the test lead and the time
it takes for the in-line RCD to trip is measured. If the in-line RCD does
not trip or no RCD is fitted then the test will timeout after 500ms.
