4.2.1 Grounding
Connector
Note: Recommended wire size for the grounding connector is #14 AWG solid copper
wire.
Step 1. Screw the AWG #14 solid copper ground wire to the MTAS shelf chassis using
the grounding screw located on left side (viewed from rear) of the shelf.

Step 2. Connect the other end of the ground cable to a known good earth ground. Be
sure to follow local and national electrical codes.
4.2.2 Power
Feeds
WARNING: Do not switch on the power until the power connections are installed, and
the power cables are attached to the MTAS Shelf terminal block(s) power unit. Inserting
or removing the power unit while a live power cable is attached to it can result in
equipment damage and potentially life-threatening exposure to dangerous voltage
levels. Follow local electrical safety procedures and codes when making power source
connections.
Note: Recommended wire size for power feeds is #16 - #18 AWG solid or stranded
copper wire.
