This chapter describes how to load a roll of label or tag supply.
There are three types of supplies:
Thermal Direct specially treated thermal supplies that do not
use a ribbon for printing.
Thermal Transfer standard supplies that require a ribbon for
printing.
High Energy scratch, chemical, and temperature resistant
supplies that require a ribbon able to
withstand high temperatures. See "Using a
High Energy Ribbon" in Chapter 3 for more
information.
If you are using thermal direct supplies, do not load a ribbon. If
you switch from black mark to die cut supplies, make sure the
printer’s supply type is set correctly.
