7.6 Output

view

It is possible to tile the main window of the terminal program and display a further view. Click on
“Output View” in the menu “View” to toggle it on and off. All the errors received from the
connected hardware are entered in this window. You can select an error and jump to its text
position in the terminal window by double-clicking on the error in the output view.

To clear the error list in the output view click on “Clear Error List” in the menu “Edit” or in the
popup menu (press right mouse button when the mouse is crossing output view).

Errors are only displayed in the output view, if the check box “Show errors” in the menu "Tools"
-> "Options" -> "Download" is enabled. If not they are ignored and the error list stays empty.

Automatical Log File

To record the communication between “Motion Control Tools” and a PMC device all transferred
data are written automatically into a PTF file called "mct_PTerm_autolog.ptf". This file is located
in “%USERPROFILE%\Pilz\Motion Control Tools”. It will be opened when connecting the
terminal and closed when disconnecting the communication.

The function “Automatical Log File” can be activated or deactivated in the menu "Tools" ->
"Options" -> "Logfile". The maximum size of the log file can be specified.
