BOOTP
When it is started up via BOOTP (bootstrap protocol), a device receives its
configuration in accordance with the "BOOTP process" flow chart
(see
fig.
13)
.
Note: In its delivery state, the device gets its configuration data from the
DHCP server.
Activate BOOTP to receive the configuration data
(see on page
50
„Web-
based IP configuration“)
or see in the CLI:
Provide the BOOTP server with the following data for a device:
# /etc/bootptab for BOOTP-daemon bootpd
#
# gw -- gateway
# ha -- hardware address
# ht -- hardware type
# ip -- IP address
# sm -- subnet mask
# tc -- template

enable
Switch to the Privileged EXEC mode.
configure protocol bootp
Activate BOOTP.
copy system:running-config
nvram:startup-config
Activate BOOTP.
