Adding an Entry (PVC)
To add an entry (PVC), perform the following steps:
1.
Use the arrow keys to highlight the IF field and enter the MIB-II
interface number to which the PVC will be added. If a new MIB-II
interface will be used for the PVC, this field can be left at “0”. The
HSIM-A6DP will automatically use the next available interface for
this PVC.
2.
Use the arrow keys to highlight the VPI field and enter 0 or 1.
3.
Use the arrow keys to highlight the VCI field and enter a VCI value
from 32–1020.
4.
Use the arrow keys to highlight the Encapsulation Type field and
press the SPACE bar until the desired Encapsulation Type appears.
5.
Use the arrow keys to highlight the BW (Mbps) field. Enter the total
amount of available bandwidth that you wish to allocate to this PVC.
6.
Use the arrow keys to highlight the ADD/MODIFY command.
7.
Press ENTER. The “ENTRY ADDED” message appears at the top of
the screen indicating that Local Management has added the PVC.
NOTE
The VCI values 0 through 31 are reserved for ATM Forum use
only.
NOTE
The HSIM-A6DP will not allow any PVCs to be created if the
desired bandwidth entered in the BW (Mbps) field exceeds the
available bandwidth of the APIM.
