VPI (Modifiable)

This field is used to enter the Virtual Path Identifier of the PVC. The
available range for this field is 0 or 1, with a default value of 0.

VCI (Modifiable)

This field is used to enter the Virtual Channel Identifier of the PVC. The
available range for this field is 32 through 1020.

AAL Type (Read-Only)

This field displays the ATM Adaptation Layer (AAL) being used by the
PVC. The HSIM-A6DP uses AAL 5.

Encapsulation Type (Toggle)

This field displays the type of data encapsulation that the HSIM-A6DP
will use to perform LAN to ATM translation. This field toggles between
the following options:

VC Mux 802.3 Bridged -

VC Based Multiplexing for Bridged

Protocols as defined by the IETF RFC 1483.

LLC Encapsulated -

Logical Link Control for Bridged Protocols as

defined by the IETF RFC 1483.

BW (Mbps) (Modifiable)

This field is used to set the amount of bandwidth that will be assigned to
this PVC.

Total Bandwidth On Interface (Read-Only)

This field displays the total amount of bandwidth that the port (APIM)
provides.

Total Bandwidth Allocated (Read-Only)

This field displays the total amount of bandwidth that has already been
allocated to existing PVCs. These PVCs may be viewed in the ATM
Connection Setup screen. Refer to

Figure 3-18

.

ADD/MODIFY (Command)

This command adds the PVC, or the modified PVC, to the HSIM-A6DP
connection table.
