Sweep Cultivator Attachment
The S w eep C ultivator is a spe-
sialized tool designed for betw een-
row cultivation of crops. Instead of
stirring the soil, it slices through
iust below the surface to elim inate
practically any w eeds in its path.
A s show n in Photo 9-13, the
S w eep m ounts easily to the Tow
H itch A ttachm ent at the rear of the
^ow er U nit. The blade is m ade of
ligh carbon, heat treated steel and
•neasures 2" w ide (overall w ing­
span is 20").

keep soil disturbance to a m ini­
m um . A nd, because of its 20" w ide
cutting path, it does an effective
cultivating job at a fast speed.
The S w eep naturally cultivates
shallow , w hich helps to prevent
w eed seeds from being brought
to the soil’s surface. This shallow
cultivation feature also m eans
there’s less chance of dam aging
the roots of your vegetables. For
deeper or m ore shallow cultivating,
the depth of the blade can be
changed w ith just a sim ple
adjustm ent.

FROY-BILT Kickstand
The K ickstand provides a sturdy
front support for the P ow er U nit,
preventing the engine from tipping
forw ard w hen you are connecting
pr disconnecting attachm ents. It
also keeps the P ow er U nit in a
evel position w hen there is no
attachm ent, or w hen there is an
attachm ent w hich isn’t heavy
anough to w eigh the tiller dow n in
the back.
A s show n in Photo 9-14, the K ick-
stand attaches to the W rap-A round
B um per/G uard w hich has tw o
m ounting holes provided in its bot­
tom brace.
The K ickstand is spring-loaded
so that is easily sw ings up out of
the w ay w hen its use is not re­
quired (if you forget to raise the
K ickstand, it w ill autom atically
disengage itself as you m ove the
P ow er U nit forw ard).

Tine Attachment Cradle
The Tine A ttachm ent C radle is a
ponvenient accessory for safely
'em oving the tine attachm ent from
:he P ow er U nit. It positions the tine
attachm ent at just the right height
tor sliding the P ow er U nit connec-
:ion in and out, elim inating the
leed for lifting and pulling on the
:ine attachm ent. S ee P hoto 9-15.
The cradle also provides a se-
pure stand for storing your tine
attachm ent w hile using the P ow er
Jnit w ith other attachm ents. It sup­
ports the tine attachm ent in a level
position w hich prevents leakage of
ransm ission gear oil from the
jipstick/oil fill hole.
