Configuration roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
• Configure the encapsulation mode on all the Ethernet interfaces to 802.1Q.
• Configure the IDs of the VLANs to which each Ethernet interface belongs.
• Configure the IP address of each Ethernet interface.
Data preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data.
• The VLAN IDs of the Ethernet subinterfaces GE 1/0/0.1 and GE 1/0/0.2 are 10 and 20
respectively.
• The VLAN IDs of the Ethernet subinterfaces GE 2/0/0.1 and GE 2/0/0.2 are 30 and 40
respectively.
• The IP addresses of GE 1/0/0.1 and GE 1/0/0.2 are 10.110.6.3 and 10.110.5.3
respectively.
• The IP addresses of GE 1/0/0.1 and GE 1/0/0.2 are 10.110.4.3 and 10.110.3.3
respectively.
Configuration procedure
Step 1 Configure the interface connected with Switch B on the router.
• Create and configure the subinterface GE 1/0/0.1.
