1 LAN access overview
1.2.6 Checking the configuration
Run the following commands to check the previous configuration.

Check the interface running
status and statistics.
display interface [ interface-type [ interface-number ] ]
[ | { begin | exclude | include } regular-expression ]
Check brief IP information on
the interface.
display ip interface brief [ interface-type
[ interface-number ] ]
Run the display interface command. If the physical status, link layer protocol status, IP
address, mask, MAC address, and physical parameters of an interface are displayed, the
configuration is successful. For example:
Ethernet2/0/0 current state : UP
Line protocol current state : UP
Description : NORTEL, Nortel Series, Ethernet2/0/0 Interface
