11. BIOS Update
The AMC module provides two redundant 1 MB Firmware hubs (FWH0 and FWH1), which can
be updated as newer versions of the BIOS become available. For online downloads, visit the
Kontron web site or contact Kontron’s Technical Support.
For updating the second Firmware hub, there are different ways to switch over between the two
Firmware hubs:
• by using the DIP switch
• by sending a command to the MMC controller via the Shelf Manager
• automatically by using the MMC controller if the Flash image is corrupted
To support the user in updating the Firmware, Kontron provides a Firmware Update CD-ROM,
which contains all required software to perform a board BIOS update and an IPMI Firmware
