- ■'•1 The ESOOHi 8mm Video Camera & Recorder can be used for Hi8 video
recording and playback.
What is Hi8?
Hi8 is an optional standard for high-band recording. Compared with conventional 8mm,
Hi8 provides a dramatically clear and high quality picture.
HÌ8 Video cassette
A special video cassette with the HiH mark is required for Hi8 video recording. The Hi8
Metal-E cassettes are the metal-evaporated type, specially developed for the high
recording quality of Hi8.
Compatible with conventional 8mm video cassettea^
The compatibility of Hi8 and standard 8mm is shown in the figure below (in the E800Hi):

' Recording and playback in standard 8mm is possible on Hi8 units.
' Video cassettes recorded in Hi8 cannot be played back on standard 8mm units.
With the ESOOHi, it is impossible to record in standard mode with HiH video cassette.
