Rear Mud Flap Installation
Tip: Although removal of the rear tire can ease installation, removal is not necessary. The installation can be completed using an offset screwdriver in addition to
jacking up the rear of the vehicle thereby lowering the wheel and facilitating access to the area for easier installation.
1. Remove factory fasteners #1, #2, #3 and #4. If present, uninstall factory splash guard. The plastic fastener portions can be removed by prying
out the inner tab first then removing the outer assembly. Pry back liner to gain access to the inner wheel well (Figure G).
2. Remove OEM clips underneath, if present, then place 2 polygon clips (PolCl) over mounting points #5 and #1 (Figure H).
3. Place an insert (Ins) until flush into mounting point #2. Place clip (PolCl) over the rear mounting point #3. Carefully replace liner (Figure I).
4. Match rear mud flap against the vehicle mounting points #5, #1, and #2 with logo facing the rear of the vehicle. Place a (1.5 SS) screw
through a washer (Wash) and loosely thread mounting points.
*Do not fully tighten.*
Adjust the mud flap before final bolting (Figure J).
5. Place a screw (1.5 SS) through a washer (Wash) through mounting point #3 then place a spacer (.5Sp) behind the mud flap.
Loosely thread mounting points (Figure K).
Tip:
For Figure K, It may be helpful to compress the clip with your free hand in order to catch the screw thread.
6. Align mud flaps by walking away to view the mud flap from the rear of the vehicle. Confirm the edges of the flap are perpendicular to the
ground. If needed, make slight adjustments by shifting the upper/lower portions of the flap. Check each adjustment by walking away from the
vehicle and assessing the mud flap in relation to the ground and the body of the vehicle. When flap is correctly aligned, tighten all hardware
only until snug (Figure L).
Tip: The hardware is quite strong and self threading but over‐tightening the clips beyond their limit is not recommended.
7. Repeat the instructions for the other side of the vehicle to complete rear mud flap installation.
